Programs & Services

• Professional Training – CONNECT offers courses geared towards both the more seasoned executive and intermediate workers within the sector. Our interactive, diverse sessions allow participants to tap into important knowledge that will strengthen their professional skills on topics that are cutting edge and have been identified as high areas of need. More than 300 individuals were trained by CONNECT last year alone. Past topics have included: Social Enterprise, Program Evaluation, Avoiding Financial Pitfalls, Developing Collaborative Partnerships, Re-engaging Your Nonprofit Board, Marketing Your Nonprofit Mission, and the Family Development Credential Program.
• Orange County Capacity Building Program–The Orange County Capacity Building Program (OCCBP) is designed to provide valuable support to faith and community-based organizations looking to improve their ability to serve low-income individuals and families in the community. Through free capacity building workshops, technical assistance and financial assistance, this unique program seeks to strengthen the capacity of eligible orange county organizations that provide workforce development, job readiness, and support services such as transportation, child care, or wardrobe assistance. 
• Organizational Assessment – We utilize our own CONNECT Organizational Assessment Tool© designed to explore a nonprofits’ organizational functioning, structure, and readiness for capacity building. Nearly 50 assessments have been completed to date.
• Nonprofit Coaching and Consulting – In addition to CONNECT’s internal expertise, we can provide linkages to 1) external nonprofit consultants who possess a wide range of subject matter expertise and 2) The Executive Coaches of Orange County, a group of former for-profit executives with expertise in a variety of business areas. Nonprofit leaders are provided pro-bono individual coaching or capacity building team coaching services.
• Business Plan Training/Consultation – Choose from group or individual training offered through our Bankable Business Plans for Nonprofits workshop featuring the CONNECT Nonprofit Business Plan Workbook© – a step-by-step guide to creating successful business plans for nonprofits. Additional customized services include one-to-one consultation, editorial feedback during plan development, and access to a Professional Business Plan Review Panel.
• Program Administration\Project Management – CONNECT manages several projects on behalf of foundations and individual nonprofits, which often include a combination of the services listed prior. Some additional examples include conference/ event management, program development and implementation, and systems development. One of CONNECT's largest projects is the AmeriCorps VISTA Program Administration on behalf of the First 5 Service Corps.
